Richard Bedlack, MD, PhD, MS, associate professor of medicine (Neurology) and chairman of the North American ALS Research Group, has been selected to lead the newly established ALS Clinical Research Learning Institute.
This program will bring patients with ALS and their family members and friends to Florida for an intensive one-day course in research methodology and in advocacy. It is hoped that these trainees will then become ambassadors for clinical research on the internet, in their support groups, in the newspaper and in Washington DC.
Bedlack is also gearing up for his annual trip to Washington, DC where he will join patients from around the United States in telling their stories to Congress as part of National ALS Advocacy Day.
