Cardiologist William Kraus, MD, a professor of medicine and biomedical engineering, has been appointed to the 2018 Physical Activity Guidelines Advisory Committee. Kraus and 16 other selected members will assemble the science for development of the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, which will be released in 2018.
Each Advisory Committee member will serve a two-year term and meet publicly five times throughout their term to discuss their scientific evidence as they prepare their scientific report.
This will be a collaborative effort led by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. The Advisory Committee will be working closely with he Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, and the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition.
