Chao appointed to new National Biodefense Science Board

Nelson Chao, MD, MBA, professor of medicine and chief of the Division of Cellular Therapy, was sworn in as member of the new National Biodefense Science Board on Jan. 18, 2012. The board is a federal advisory committee that provides expert advice and guidance on preventing, preparing for, and responding to adverse health effects of public health emergencies to the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services Secretary and the HHS Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR).
