DGIM at CLIC Conference in Vancouver

Duke GIM faculty members, Bruce Peyser, MDPoonam Sharma, MD, and Lawrence Greenblatt, MD, just returned from the Consortium of Longitudinal Integrated Clerkships (CLIC) Conference in Vancouver. According to their website, CLIC is an international conference for physicians, educators, administrators, and students who believe that there is a better way to educate Medical Students to provide excellent clinical care. WORKSHOPS:

  • Dr. Bruce Peyser + Sally Schatz (from Duke Development) presented a workshop "Fundraising Tips for LICs"
  • Drs. Lawrence Greenblatt and Bruce Peyser co-taught a development workshop focused on best practices for how clinician educators collaborate with partners from their development office to effectively fundraise to support institutions and longitudinal educational programs.

LEADING TRACKS:

  • Dr. Poonam Sharma lead a track for students interested in specialty careers
  • Dr. Bruce Peyser lead a track for primary-care focused students (Primary Care Leadership Track)
