A new documentary film about the Duke Pathfinders study will have its premiere showing on Fri., Sept. 30, 2011 at the Nasher Museum of Art starting at 6 p.m.
What Love Is: The Duke Pathfinders 50 follows cancer patients and their caregivers through the two-year experimental psychosocial protocol designed to prove a better way of life – and death – for cancer patients and their families everywhere. The Duke research team was led by Amy Abernethy, MD, associate professor of medicine (Medical Oncology).
The film follows the lives of some of the Pathfinder patients. It also features Kimberly Blackwell, MD, associate professor of medicine (Medical Oncology) and ardent champion of the Pathfinders program.
