On Friday, June 8, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., staff of the Department of Medicine Research Administration (DOM-RA) will host a lemonade stand, bake sale, and raffle for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation's annual "Lemonade Days."
The fundraiser will take place outside of Erwin Square Plaza at 2200 West Main Street in Durham.
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) is a charity that funds research projects in childhood cancer. The donations also fund ALSF's programs that provide monetary and emotional support for childhood cancer patients and their families.
The lemonade and bake sale will include treats such as cupcakes, cookies, and slices of cake. The raffle prizes include gifts cards from local businesses and restaurants sponsoring the event.
All of the proceeds from the lemonade and bake sale will be donated to the charity.
DOM-RA staff's involvement with ALSF dates back to the staff's Triangle Christmas Tree Challenge days, which was one of the first activities the group did as a sponsor for ALSF.
If you would like to keep up with DOM-RA's activities or learn how to donate to the charity, visit their Facebook page or follow their ALSF blog.
