Dr. Gray authors research letter for JAMA Internal Medicine

Dr. Nathan Gray, a Medical Instructor in DGIM, is lead author on a research letter published February 6, 2017 in JAMA Internal Medicine. The article, entitled “Hospice Access for Undocumented Immigrants” examines hospice agency practices as well as access for undocumented immigrants.

The researchers completed a nationwide, web-based survey of 179 hospice agencies. Of 179 agencies, 121 offered unrestricted enrollment to undocumented immigrants and 58 either limited the number enrolled or did not enroll undocumented patients.

This letter argues that reducing barriers to hospice services for undocumented immigrants will not only improve end of life care, but may reduce cost.

Medicalresearch.com did an interview with Dr. Gray about the article. Check the interview out here!
