Duke Gasteroenterology faculty and staff participated in three events in March in honor of Colon Cancer Awareness Month, Dress in Blue Day on March 3, the Get Your Rear In Gear 5K in Raleigh and the Duke Crush Colon Cancer 5K in Durham.
The Get Your Rear In Gear 5K benefited the Colon Cancer Coalition, and the Duke GI team was organized by Marie Nagel, a nurse in the Endoscopy Department at Duke Raleigh.
The Duke Crush Colon Cancer 5K benefits Colorectal Cancer research at Duke and community outreach. The Duke GI was led by Duke GI faculty members Anne Cotton and Rahul Shimpi.
