Dzau invites faculty to town hall meeting on scientific integrity issues 10.3.2011

By Anton Zuiker
UPDATE 9.23.2011 – This meeting has been postponed. In an email earlier this week, Chancellor Victor Dzau invited faculty to attend an important Town Hall meeting on Mon., Oct. 3, from 5-6 p.m. in the Searle Center. At this meeting, Dr. Dzau and his senior team will provide information related to university scientific misconduct and faculty misconduct processes and the challenges in communicating these processes.
This will also be an opportunity to talk about our collective commitment to integrity and hear your thoughts about how we can effectively reinforce a culture that is grounded in integrity and in which we can collectively hold one another accountable.
A significant component of this meeting will be to answer, to the degree possible, questions faculty may have about discipline procedures and more. Joining Dzau for this meeting will be School of Medicine Dean Nancy Andrews, MD, PhD, DUHS Executive Vice President William J. Fulkerson, Jr., MD, and PDC President Carl Ravin, MD.
