Faculty Connection, LLC – a consulting group made up of Medicine faculty members Danny Benjamin, Rob Califf, Bob Harrington, Chris O'Connor, Kevin Schulman and Ken Lyles, along with A. Valverde Vidal – will donate a portion of their profits to the Department of Medicine to help support resident research projects.
The group's previous donation of $22,500 helped support many of the projects presented at the 2011 Resident Research Night. They've pledged to donate more than $25,000 this year.
"I was so pleased to hear that you will again make this generous contribution to the Department of Medicine," acknowledged Mary Klotman, MD, chair of the department, in a message to the group. "As you know, with last year's gift we were able to support 20 housestaff research projects, many of which were presented at last year's research evening and have resulted in national presentations and publications. We are preparing again to offer this opportunity to housestaff to submit proposals for support – I have no doubt that they will be as bountiful and as high quality as last year."
