Funding opp: Call for DOCK clinical and translational research proposals

By etm18@dhe.duke.edu
The Duke O’Brien Center for Kidney Research is entering its second year and soliciting new proposals. UnknownThe Clinical and Translational Core, led by Uptal Patel, MD, and Laura Svetkey, MD, MHS, will support clinical & translational research proposals that align with the purpose of the Center. Specifically, the DOCK facilitates research on the inter-relationships among kidney disease, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. The DOCK Clinical and Translational Core will focus on investigating pathophysiology, epidemiology, and therapeutic response in on-going studies or existing datasets that focus on one condition (i.e., kidney disease, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease), but that would provide deeper insight by expanding the focus to include each of the others. If you currently have relevant research project ideas or want to expand your clinical/translational research that addresses our thematic focus, please consider applying for resources and support, including:
  • Project management (e.g., IRB applications, assistance accessing a database or samples)
  • Statistical support (PhD and Masters level)
  • Limited funding (for assays, personnel, etc.)
Applicants are expected to have sufficient research experience and resources to ensure completion of the proposed project during the funding period (1-2 years). For more information and application materials, please visit the DOCK website.
