Funding opp: HIV/AIDS research development

Duke University Center for AIDS Research has announced a Request for Proposals for clinical, basic and social and behavioral science HIV/AIDS research for awards beginning May 1, 2013. Proposals are due on March 18, 2013. Applicants may request up to $40,000 in total direct costs for 1 year. The intent of a CFAR Developmental Core is to support scientific studies for a period of 1 year to develop preliminary data for peer-reviewed research applications. Four general areas are eligible for support through the Developmental Core:
  • Investigators who are new to HIV/AIDS research and have not previously received independent research awards such as an R01 in HIV/AIDS research
  • Feasibility Studies
  • Emerging research opportunities
  • HIV/AIDS research activities of newly recruited faculty
