The Office of the Vice Provost for Interdisciplinary Studies is taking applications for the 2012 PFIRST research grant for projects that focus on interdisciplinary collaboration on societal issues. Five awards will be granted to projects conducted by groups that are representative of different departments, divisions, schools, and institutes. Approximately $20,000 to $30,000 will be awarded to each project. Existing PFIRST-funded projects are eligible to apply for a second year of funding. Applications should be submitted to Hallie Knuffman at hallie.knuffman@duke.edu by Jan. 9, 2012.
