Funding opp: Three DTRI pilot funding opportunities coming this fall

It's time to start preparing applications for the 2016 DTRI Pilot Funding opportunities.

The Duke Translational Research Institute (DTRI) Pilot Program supports collaborative research to translate new therapies, diagnostics, and devices through first-in-human studies, as well as epidemiological and community-based research. In addition to funding, the DTRI provides project management assistance and facilitates access to resources and expertise. These services are funded through the Duke Clinical and Translational Science Award (Duke CTSA).

Three Pilot Programs will be accepting applications this fall:

  • DTRI Translational Research Pilot - up to $100,000 for cross-disciplinary scientific research addressing development of therapies, diagnostics, or devices; clinical research/trials (excluding Phase 2 or beyond); epidemiological studies, and/or community-based research. Optional letter of intent due Sept. 15, 2015. Application deadline, October 30, 2015
  • Duke-UNC Collaborative - up to $25,000 per institution ($50k total) for inter-institutional collaborations for new investigator teams. Application deadline, October 2, 2015
  • DTRI Supplemental Award for NIH/PHS Projects - up to $25,000 to supplement active NIH or PHS research projects for an unanticipated technology, collaboration, or resource. Applications open November 16, 2015. Application deadline, January 7, 2016
