Sign up below for your free ticket to Talk Story: Voices of Medicine on Tues., March 12 at 8 p.m. at Casbah (a music club on Main Street in Durham). Voices of Medicine will feature true stories from physicians, residents and medical students from the Duke University Department of Medicine and School of Medicine. Their stories will recount the people and events that inspired them to a life in medicine. Jeff Polish, executive director of The Monti, will emcee the show. Talk Story is a narrative variety show that meets every now and then in Durham. In October 2012, for example, Peter Kussin, MD, associate professor of medicine (Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine) told his story about providing health care to victims of the 2004 tsunami in Aceh – listen here. A note about Casbah

[hr] Casbah is a private club per NC state law (since we sell liquor, but don’t sell food), which means that membership ($3/lifetime) is required for entry.  The fee is one-time only and is in addition to the ticket price (in this case, the ticket is free). You may fill out a membership application at the door or bring a completed membership form. Members may sign in up to 2 guests per night once they have been members for 24 hours. Something else to know: we are cash only at the door, however the bar takes credit cards. FREE memberships are available to all students with a valid student ID.
