Global Health Elective Rotation case presentations

By etm18@dhe.duke.edu
Residents returning from Global Health Elective Rotations in a variety of locations in Southeast Asia, Central America, East Africa and the U.S. will share clinical case presentations on Thurs., June 13 from 12-1 p.m. in Duke North Room 2002. Global Health Rotations are becoming increasingly valuable to better understand other health care systems and the burden of diseases related to issues of poverty, environment, and health care disparities. As part of the Global Health Rotation, residents learn to provide culturally-appropriate care to diverse populations in cost constrained environments. In collaboration with the departments of Medicine and Pediatrics, the Hubert-Yeargan Center for Global Health provides 2 to 3 month Global Health Elective Rotations for residents in Internal Medicine, Medicine/Pediatrics, Medicine/Psychiatry, and Pediatrics. Residents are competitively selected to serve a wide selection of global locations.
