Kudos

Kudos this week go to Alyson Shogun and Juan Sanchez from Poonam Sharma who said, "Alyson really shined when navigating a challenging goals of care discussion at end of a patient's life.  Juan had such incredible enthusiasm for medicine, and compassion for patients." Kudos also go to Colin Smith, Mary Ann Osayande and Kent Fang from the nursing team on 7100 who said, "They exhibit excellent customer service, professionalism, teamwork, respect, integrity and safety. When I personally went in to their workroom and referred a patient who was unstable, they all immediately got up without a doubt of hesitation to offer their assistance and ensure that patient will be taken care of. Also, there was another unstable patient whom Colin Smith attended to and followed up in person multiple times without being prompted by the nursing staff. "

PubMed from the Program

This week's pubmed from the program goes to Helen Zhang for the acceptance of her abstract as a poster presentation at the 9th International AIDS Society Conference on HIV Science in July 2017. Helen's abstract is entitled: "Limited implementation of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis among public health departments in North Carolina, United States."

Clinic Corner: Pickett Road

Contributed by Sharon Rubin

Pickett Road has many activities scheduled this next month. Fresh from sunny San Diego, Dr. Clough, Dr. Halpern and Dr. Rubin have come back with clinical pearls from national American College of Physician Meeting. They will be sharing their pearls at the monthly MKSAP session Tuesday 7:30 a.m. 4/28/17.

We celebrated doctors day 4/5/17 with an appreciatory lunch for our providers and doctors and all their care for patients. Our Patient satisfaction committee is planning a town hall meeting open for our patients to ask questions and give feedback on the clinic.

We are excited for our new interns to come in July. We are sad to say goodbye to our SARS but wish them well on their next steps in fellowship. We are planning our SAR Appreciation dinner for early June after Dr.Hu returns from abroad in China.

Pickett Road gardens will be in May 2017. We will be planting our tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and flowers. We hope the deer and turkey do not eat them!
