Internal Medicine Residency News, July 5th, 2021

From the Director

We did it! One week in for our interns, everyone one week deep into their new roles! Things seem to be going smoothly – nice turnouts for conferences, fun resident reports (even with a DCT view !) and the kickoff of getting to see our fantastic administrative team. Come by the Med Res office and say hi – each day of the week features either Tia, Lynsey, Jess or Kayla (Mon-Thurs).

Interns, be on the lookout for a signup to meet with either Dr. Butterly or me for a check in. In addition to checking in, we will review some of the information about advisors and coaches as well as some general nuts and bolts. This week you should also see the “self eval” in medhub – take a look and get a sense of the new Milestones 2.0.

Kudos
Kudos this week to Allison Taylor from Sarah Moserowitz for prioritizing compassionate care at the DOC and also to Dr. Zipkin for her exterminator skills (also from Sarah), to Matthew Pisarcik from Emily Romanoff for a great first VA week, to Pooja Pate,  Megan Barrett and Harsh Patolia for being a stellar NF crew (from Carter Devlin) and to Karina Mora Massad for great work during a code from Ryan Keane.

Pubmed from the Program
This week’s pubmed from the  program goes to Michael Cosiano and Rachel Tobin! Physical Functioning in Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction. Cosiano MF, Tobin R, Mentz RJ, Greene SJ.J Card Fail. 2021 May 12:S1071-9164(21)00156-1. doi: 10.1016/j.cardfail.2021.04.013.
