Team! Don’t forget to stop by or email Jessica and give her a big congratulations on her promotion to the DOM Project Coordinator role. While she won’t be with us in the Med Res Office, she remains part of the #Dukefam and the DOM Education team taking on bigger roles with educational projects throughout the department. We are so proud of you, Jessica! Jessica will be starting her new role on November 8th.
IT’s officially November! The month of RECRUITMENT, Thanks and cheesy moustaches. Your chiefs (well, Dennis and Burt) will be HYPING the Ted Lasso-esque 1970’s cheesier facial hair under their masks so please pay attention to the “Mo-vember” hype to increase awareness of prostate cancer and prostate cancer screening. Masks are the best thing to happen for the month. Facts.
It’s also flu shot season! Way better than flu season. If you have not gotten your flu shot, it is DUE by 11/8. Tia sent a list to those who aren’t in the VaxTrax system – many thanks to a whole bunch of you who got your records updated! If you have questions about your flu shot status being recorded, please check with Tia!

Employee Health has Expanded Hours!
Based on feedback from team members who are seeking COVID testing so they can safely return to work with EOHW approval, the COVID hotline has expanded hours for employees: 5:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. 7 days per week.

All trainees at Duke have FREE access to Personal Assistance Services (PAS), which is the faculty/employee assistance program of Duke University. The staff of licensed professionals offer confidential assessment, short-term counseling, and referrals to help resolve a range of personal, work, and family problems. PAS services are available free of charge to Duke faculty and staff, and their immediate family members. An appointment to meet with a PAS counselor may be arranged by calling the PAS office at 919-416-1PAS (919-416-1727), Monday through Friday between 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. For assistance after hours, residents and fellows can call the Blood and Body Fluid Hotline (115 inside DUH, 919-684-1115 outside) for referral to behavioral health resources.
