From the Director
Last week of September! Be on the lookout for the 10th annual DOCTOBERFEST treats. Welcome to medicine to our Med-Peds colleagues who are making the switch over today. Also a big thank you to our ACR Ahmad Mourad, Alex Reddy and Michael Burt for your dedication. Welcome to our new ACRs Lonnie Sullivan, Stacy Bagrova and Trent Wei! Last week the chiefs were busy working on the block 7-9 daily schedules so be on the lookout for those as well.

We are looking forward to working with you this year.
JARs: Dr. Hargett and I will be checking in with each of you personally about your career planning. Everyone is in a different phase of that right now, and we want to make sure that you have what you need to be feeling confident in your plans going forward.

Morning Report
We shifted the morning report format last year – it is designed as an 18-month general internal medicine focused curriculum, intentionally covering topics within the breadth of primary care. Each talk is repeated three times, for each +2 ambulatory block. We’d like to hear your feedback on morning report, particularly as we think about transitioning back to “normal” someday (??). Please take a moment to fill out this ANONYMOUS THREE QUESTION survey on morning report. JARs and SARs, we particularly want to hear your thoughts because you knew the format when we held report in person, and SARs had report before the new curriculum, when they were interns. Interns, please chime in as well! Thank you!!

Feedback on your clinic experience
Have something to share about how things are going in clinic? Please tell Hannah Dzimitrowicz, Dani Zipkin, Lynn Bowlby, Sonal Patel, or Jeff Clough what you’re thinking. You will also be receiving a Continuity Clinic Survey on October 5th in MedHub – thanks in advance for filling out the brief questions!

Nominate a Shero for Women in Medicine Month
During the month of September, the Department of Medicine will honor women physicians as part of the annual Women in Medicine Month, a national campaign to highlight the accomplishments of women physicians, scientists, educators, and leaders in medicine. The DOM Program for Women in Internal Medicine (PWIM) will coordinate our celebration of Women in Medicine Month, and we ask you to participate by nominating a colleague who you consider to be a DOM shero – tell us how she inspires you and why she is your hero. Sheroes will be highlighted throughout the month of September on the department’s website and Twitter account. Read about DOM Sheroes and nominate a Shero.
