Take a break and enjoy a musical interlude by the Duke Medicine Orchestra as it rehearses for its upcoming winter concert. The rehearsal will be held from 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29 in the Duke Cancer Center Atrium.
If you can't catch a few minutes of rehearsal, the winter concert is happening on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Reynolds Auditorium. The orchestra will be joined by special guest vocal soloist Kevin Sowers, RN, MSN, FAAN, Duke University Hospital President. Sowers will sing "Bring Him Home" from "Les Miserables." Repertoire will also include pieces by Johann Strauss, Antonin Dvorak and Johannes Brahms. Admission is pay-what-you-can with a minimum suggested donation of $5.
The Duke Medicine Orchestra, founded in 2010, brings together students, faculty, clinicians and other staff across Duke Medicine in the creation, enjoyment and performance of orchestral music. There are more than 50 members representing nearly 30 departments across the Duke Medical community.
