Liu gets grant to bring mid-range DNA sequencing to Duke

By DOMain
Yutao Liu, PhD, assistant professor of medicine (Medical Genetics) and member of the Center for Human Genetics, has been awarded $101,000 from the NC Biotechnology Center to purchase the MiSeq Personal Sequencing System. This  next-generation sequencing technology will significantly augment the available DNA sequencing capabilities at Duke, addressing  the unmet need of mid-range DNA sequencing on the Duke campus. The system will support new areas of investigation, including targeted DNA sequencing, amplicon sequencing, ChIP-Seq (Chromatin Immunoprecipitation Sequencing), methylated DNA sequencing, and small RNA sequencing.
