The Duke Internal Medicine Residency Program in the Duke Department of Medicine is welcoming a new class of residents. Match Day, typically held the third week of March, is when fourth-year medical students across the country learn where they will complete their residency and continue their medical training.
“Match Day is one of the most exciting days of the year for us in the residency program,” said Lisa Criscione-Schreiber, MD, vice chair for Education in the Duke Department of Medicine. “We are thrilled with our new match class and can’t wait to welcome them to Duke this summer.”
The Duke Internal Medicine Residency matched 45 Categorical, 1 PSTP, 2 Medicine-Psychiatry, 6 Medicine-Pediatrics, 7 Neurology Preliminary, and 4 Preliminary trainees.
The matched interns will have attended 35 different medical schools, including 11 from Duke University School of Medicine.
“We are so thrilled to welcome the newest members of the Duke Family. The joy of being part of your personal and professional growth is unparalleled,” said Aimee Zaas, MD, professor of Medicine, Internal Medicine Residency Program director.
“On behalf of our entire team as well as our residency alumni around the world, we can't wait for you to join us here in Durham,” Dr. Zaas said.
