Morgan Pope joins Duke to support division development and philanthropy efforts

Morgan Pope has joined the Duke Health Development Office as an associate director of development. She will work with the Department of Medicine on development activities and philanthropy efforts for the divisions of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Nutrition, Gastroenterology, Infectious Diseases, and Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care. Morgan will also work with Pathology and Molecular Genetics and Microbiology. Her first day was June 13. 

Morgan will collaborate with Magnus Ohman, MD, vice chair for development, Blue Dean, executive director for development for the Department of Medicine and the Duke Heart Center, and Jake Pope.

Morgan was born and raised in Wilmington, N.C. She received her bachelor's degree in English and Communications from UNC Chapel Hill and returned to UNC to earn a master's degree in teaching, secondary English education. 

After graduate school, Morgan worked in the Office of Donor Relations for University Development at Duke and eventually moved to the Major Gifts team as a regional Advancement Officer. Most recently, Morgan served as the Assistant Director of Major Gifts at UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.
