Online course: Genetics and genomics for health care and society

An interdisciplinary course at Duke designed for health professions students and currently practicing providers is being offered online this summer (registration deadline is May 15) and on campus this fall. Co-sponsored by the Duke University School of Nursing and the Duke Center for Personalized Medicine, the course N562: Trends in Genetics & Genomics in Health Care & Society, provides a foundation in genetics and genomics and explores their impact on health care and society. Learning experiences include an analysis of actual genomic test results and a review of case studies. Faculty, post-docs, and currently practicing health care providers may audit the course.
