Colleagues, friends, and family gathered at Frankie's Fun Park in Raleigh on April 29th for a retirement celebration commemorating Dr. Dennis College’s commitment to Duke Health.
The crew enjoyed a beautiful evening of dinner, cake, and laser tag; all while wearing their custom "Dennis College Classic" t-shirts.
Dr. College officially retired in February of this year, after coming to Duke in July of 2007, where he rounded as a hospitalist at Duke Regional Hospital. He was a wonderful Clinical Instructor for Duke learners as well as a mentor for new members of the Hospitalist staff.
Poonam Sharma, MD, recalls many great memories throughout her years working with Dr. College. "He was a doctor's doctor - I think any of his colleagues would have felt comfortable entrusting themselves or their loved ones to his care," she says. "He never rushed and was meticulous about the details. My early interactions with him as a Duke IM resident inspired me to choose a career in hospital medicine."
