About the book
In "Blindspot," psychologists Mahzarin R. Banaji and Anthony G. Greenwald utilize a procedure they created called the Implicit Association Test (IAT) to objectively examine the hidden biases that many people carry subconsciously. People learn these biases from a lifetime of exposure to society’s conceptions and portrayals of attributes such as age, gender, race, religion, disability, and social class. These biases can guide individuals’ behaviors, even if people are unaware of being subject to these beliefs.
