Kevin Schulman, MD, MBA, Professor of Medicine (GIM) and Professor of Business Administration at Duke University, has been elected to membership in the Association of American Physicians (AAP). AAP is a prestigious national society of physician-scientists who are elected based on their important scientific contributions that have ultimately impacted human health. Schulman was officially inducted at the AAP annual meeting, which took place on April 21, 2018 in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Schulman is a distinguished researcher who has received more than $48 million in research grants. His research interests include health services research and policy, including access to care and the impact of reimbursement and regulatory policies on clinical practice; health economics and economic evaluation in clinical research; and medical decision making, especially in patients with life-threatening conditions. He teaches courses in biotechnology, health policy, and health IT strategy. A recipient of numerous awards, Dr. Schulman is also a fellow of the American College of Physicians and an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation.
Schulman has recently accepted a position with Stanford University and will begin there in June 2018. He will stay on as a Adjunct Professor here at Duke.
