SGIM 2017 recap + photo gallery

Wow! SGIM 2017 was an amazing submersion into what matters in general internal medicine.

The final registration count for the Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. this year was 2465 and over 20 from Duke. The theme was Resilience & Grit: Pursuing Organizational Change & Preventing Burnout in GIM, all about sharing how we can take action as individuals, leaders, and advocates to improve the work we do and the environment we do it in.

Poster presentations, oral abstracts, plenary sessions, workshops, networking…they had it all going on! Click here for a complete list of all Duke presentations that took place at #SGIM17.

Congratulations to Joseph Plaksin, MD, Duke medicine resident, who was selected as a 2017 Young Scholar in GIM

Also, a shoutout to Nia Mitchell, MD, who was on the SGIM Program Committee and was in charge of the Scientific Abstract presentations for the event.

Besides so many informative sessions and presentations, we took time to relax for a lovely DGIM reception with delicious food and wonderful company. Thank you, Dr. Boulware!

We are already looking forward to next year, the 2018 Annual Meeting, April 11-14, 2018, in Denver, CO. The theme will be health information technology.
