SOM funds interdisciplinary colloquia proposals

Dean Nancy Andrews and Vice Dean for Research Sally Kornbluth have selected the following proposals from Medicine faculty to receive funding through the Interdisciplinary Colloquia initiative:
  • The Biology of Aging, proposed by Harvey Cohen and Mary Klotman with colleagues from the departments of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, Pharmacology and Cancer Biology, and Cell Biology.
  • Human Genetics Evening at Duke, proposed by Beth Hauser and David Goldstein, PhD, professor of molecular genetics and microbiology, with colleagues from the Center for Human Genome Variation and the departments of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics and Molecular Genetics and Microbiology.
  • Therapeutic Implications of the Physiological Gases, proposed by Harvey Marshall and Claude Piantadosi with Mark Dewhirst, MD, professor of radiation oncology.
  • The Duke Epigenetics and Epigenomics Colloquia, proposed by Simon Gregory with colleagues from the departments of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Neurobiology.
