The School of Medicine Office for Faculty Development is pleased to announce the 9th annual School of Medicine course on Leadership Development for Researchers. LEADER will be held April 17-19, 2018 at the Hamner Conference Center in RTP. This 3-day interactive learning program is designed to equip junior faculty researchers with the professional competencies to effectively lead successful scientific research enterprises.

Who should apply? The most competitive applicants will be those who are leading a research team, and who have a clearly identified commitment to research as the principal focus of their career. Faculty from the Schools of Medicine and Nursing, Pratt School of Engineering, Nicholas School of the Environment, and the Natural Sciences are eligible to apply, as well as faculty in multidisciplinary centers and institutes. All participants will be required to attend the full three days of the course. A letter of support from each applicant's department chair or supervisor is a required part of the application. All accepted applicants whose primary appointment is outside the School of Medicine departments will be asked to pay $1,500 tuition to cover program costs.
