Two opportunities to give this holiday season:
DOC Thanksgiving Fund Drive
The Duke Outpatient Clinic is collecting donations which will be used to help buy food and gift cards for DOC families.- If you have clinic at the DOC, please give your confidential donations to either Kim Pickney (or Yvonne Hester if Kim is unavailable). If you are making a donation by check, please make the check payable to Kim Pickney (and put "DOC Thanksgiving Fund Drive" in the note section).
- If you don't work at the DOC but are able to contribute, you can submit your donation to Jon Bae, Lynn Bowlby, Shifali Arora, Julius Wilder or Diana McNeill. The last day for collections is 11/22
- If you work at the DOC and have any families you would like to suggest, please let Kim Pickney know ASAP.
Clothing Drive
Bibu Mohanty is helping to spearhead a collection of clothing that can be distributed though local charity. Donations can be dropped off in the Medical Residency office (Duke Hospital room 8254) no later than Thursday, November 19, 2010.- Clothing doesn't need to be new; in fact, the goal is to give folks a chance to submit their old articles of clothing no longer in use.
- Winter clothing is preferred. However, any clothing that you no longer use is also acceptable.
- If possible, bring clothing for Children and Adults in separate bags.
- Clothing must be in good condition. Please do not submit articles that are soiled, stained, or have tears.
- Clothes should be cleaned prior to submission.
- No undergarments of any kind
