Today is Basic Science Day 2013

The School of Medicine's Basic Science Day 2013 is today, with a keynote speech from Robert Lefkowitz, MD, professor of medicine (Cardiology) and Nobel Laureate. Dr. Lefkowitz will present "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Stockholm" this afternoon at 4:15 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Trent Semans Center. Today is one of two days this week to hear about Lefkowitz's journey to the Nobel Prize. Ralph Synderman, MD, Chancellor Emeritus and professor of medicine, will honor Lefkowitz at Medicine Grand Rounds on Fri., Oct. 18, at 8 a.m. in the Great Hall of the Trent Semans Center. Medicine Grand Rounds on Friday will help kick off Clinical Science Day 2013 and Medical Alumni Weekend. Speakers at Clinical Science Day from the Department of Medicine include Chris Granger, MD, professor of medicine (Cardiology); Megan Clowse, MD, PhD, associate professor of medicine (Rheumatology and Immunology); Kimberly Blackwell, MD, professor of medicine (Medical Oncology).
