Welcome Mark Bettger – GIM Senior Business Manager!

He just joined the Duke Division of General Internal Medicine as the new Sr. Business Manager on January 19th. In this role Mark will serve as the administrative leader and senior management advisor to Division Chief, Dr. Ebony Boulware. “I am really looking forward to working with Dr. Boulware, the GIM staff and its faculty,” he says. Prior to joining the Duke community, Mark received his Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Organizational Behavior and spent over twelve years in business development in the music and creative service industries.

What does Mark like to do in his spare time? “I love music and drumming (to the chagrin of my neighbors and dog) and I love reading,” he says “I’m also big fan of movies-particularly period pieces and horror/thriller”.  Bettger also studied Tae Kwon do when he was a teenager. “I had to swim 7 miles in the local river to earn my red belt. I haven’t been in a river since.”
