Zipkin selected for SGIM Mid-Career Education Mentorship Award

General Internal Medicine (GIM) Associate Professor of Medicine, Daniella Zipkin, MD, was selected as the 2022 SGIM National Mid- Career Education Mentorship Award recipient. This award recognizes medical educators who "have demonstrated a commitment to mentorship and established a track record for successful mentorship," among other equally strong criteria.

Dr. Zipkin holds many leadership and mentorship roles at Duke including Vice Chief of Education for the GIM division, Associate Program Director for Ambulatory Care for the Duke Internal Medicine Residency Program, Chair of the Program for Women in Medicine, and Associate Vice Chair for Faculty Development and Diversity.

The selection committee noted the authenticity and depth of Dr. Zipkin’s mentoring relationships. The award will be acknowledged at the 2022 SGIM Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida on Saturday, April 9, 2022.
