What are your career goals?
My goal is to become an academic nephrologist. I am interested in glomerular disease, critical care nephrology, hypertension, and quality improvement. I’m excited to explore transplant nephrology more as well.
What were you looking for in a fellowship program?
I was looking for a program that provided excellent mentorship with strong clinical and research training. I wanted to train in a program that had faculty with a variety of research interests and expertise. I also wanted a program that made offered to support graduate degree programs for fellows interested in a physician scientist career path.
Which Scholar pathway will you choose and why?
I chose the clinical research track in order to have protected time to develop research skills and complete a research project.
What are the strengths of the Duke program?
The mentorship, and comradery amongst fellows and faculty. It was clear from speaking with fellows and faculty that the program leadership was really dedicated to helping fellows achieve their career goals and were also very responsive to concerns raised by fellows.
