Fellow Perspective
Tell us briefly about your background before cardiology fellowship?
I was a pulmonologist/intensivist for five years at Duke
What are your career plans in cardiology?
Interventional and possibly Structural Cardiology
Why did you choose Duke for your cardiology fellowship training?
The large volume of patients, as well as the breadth and very high standards of clinical care
What advice might you offer residents looking at fellowship programs?
There is no substitute for a large volume of clinical experience during your training. Therefore you should seek out a place that will allow you to develop the broadest range of skills. Going through this difficult process in training will make practicing on your own much easier.
What do you enjoy doing in the Triangle area outside of work?
Being outdoors with my wife and kids and sports
