What were you looking for in a residency program?
A program that provides an environment for growth and evolution.

What are the strengths of the Duke Program?
We have diverse residents and faculty! I am surrounded by a friendly community and know I am well supported by my fellow residents and attendings. 

What are your observations about the relationships between faculty and house staff?
The attendings are friendly and supportive. They give my autonomy but are always available for consultations when needed.

Tell us about your co-residents. What has helped you connect, support each other, and form friendships?
My co-residents are some of the most kind, smart, resourceful, and fun people I have ever met. They make coming to work every day so enjoyable. 

About Duke University and Durham

What has surprised you most about Duke?
I was pleasantly surprised to see first hand how helpful and involved the faculty are. They are so willing to share their knowledge and teach us residents at every opportunity. 

What is the best thing about living in Durham and the Triangle?
Durham feels like home away from home! There are good trails near and many things to do outdoors. Also, I love the convenience of a short commute to work as well as restaurants and shops. 

What are your interests outside of medicine?
I enjoy running, hiking, and spending time with friends.
