Where did you attend college/university?
Wheaton College

Where did you attend medical school?
Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania

What are your career goals?
I plan on pursuing a career in hospital medicine.

"I think the greatest strength of the Duke Program is the level of engagement of the faculty. I have yet to work a shift - both days and nights - where the attending physicians are not only constantly available, but are also actively engaged in my own personal learning and constructive discussions regarding patient care."

Reflections on the Duke Program

What were you looking for in a residency program?
Aside from clinical excellence, I was really looking for a place I could confidently call "home." It's no secret that residents spend most of their time at the hospital, so the people they're working with and the environment that is fostered at the workplace make all the difference.

What are the strengths of the Duke Program?
For the sake of not sounding cliche in saying the "Duke family" (though it is indeed one of the best parts about Duke), I think the greatest strength of the Duke Program is the level of engagement of the faculty. I have yet to work a shift - both days and nights - where the attending physicians are not only constantly available, but are also actively engaged in my own personal learning and constructive discussions regarding patient care. The faculty here at Duke are both brilliant and highly invested in the residents they work with.

About Duke University and Durham

What is the best thing about living in Durham and the Triangle?
Food! I am a big foodie, and I've been highly impressed by the food scene here in Durham. Some of my favorites so far are Dame's Chicken & Waffles, M Sushi, and Naan Stop. The ice cream scene is equally impressive, with Simon Says Dip This being the new hot spot in town.

What are your interests outside of medicine?
I love anything sports, particularly basketball and football. I'm also very into music and recently started recording my own work - you can actually find me on Spotify!
