What are your career goals?
I'm pretty undecided at this point and am looking forward to exploring career possibilities throughout residency. Along with clinical work, I'd like to be involved in teaching in some capacity.
What are the strengths of the Duke Program?
The people are amazing and the program has shown itself to be incredibly supportive. There’s excellent teaching, both in formal conferences every day and constantly through conversations with team members. This really is a great place to train in a rigorous but supportive environment.
What are your observations about the relationships between faculty and house staff?
I’ve been lucky to work with fantastic attendings who are passionate about patient care as well as teaching residents and students. They’re approachable for questions or guidance and I’m starting to find mentors who I look forward to learning from.
Tell us about your co-residents. What has helped you connect, support each other, and form friendships?
Our class is awesome and I'm repeatedly impressed by my co-workers' knowledge and care with patients. We bonded quickly over meet ups at breweries, hiking, and Durham Bulls games.
What are your interests outside of medicine?
Following Boston sports, hiking, gardening, exploring restaurants and breweries
