What are your career goals?
Clinician Educator in Nephrology and General Internal Medicine with a focus on POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound).
What were you looking for in a fellowship program?
Somewhere that was supportive of fellows’ career paths and where there was a proven record of getting fellows where they want to go. It is important to train somewhere that fellows can take the driver’s seat in their education and training. I was also looking at places where I felt they valued fellows’ time and wellness.
Which Scholar pathway will you choose and why?
The 2-year Medical Education Concentration pathway. I find immense joy in the sharing of knowledge with others. Teaching is an art that requires intentional practice to perfect. I hope to enroll in the Duke Department of Medicine Society for Early Education Scholars (SEEDS) program to hone my skills in preparation for a career in medical education.
What are the strengths of the Duke program?
Excellent program leadership at a world-renowned health care system, medical school and research institution. There is a wide variety of educational opportunities that fellows can take on, and they are regularly encouraged to branch out and pursue what they are passionate about.
