Internal Medicine Residency News- February 24th, 2025
HAPPY LAST WEEK of FUN-BRUARY! The snow slowed us down a little last week but we will be right back at ya with GME Appreciation Week (cue the amazing GME t-shirts, GME Office trivia and Grub Hub, thanks Duke GME) as well as ACR’s leading the LEADs conference on Tuesday and our rescheduled pancakes and waffles on Wednesday and Trivia Bowl on Friday!
Please also remember to fill out your ACGME survey! Your personal link comes in an email from DONOTREPLY_ACGME. Let’s hit our very first year of 100% participation!
Kudos this week to Julia Couto from Dr. Schneider for going above and beyond to help out on VA GM, to Garrett Bethel and Sam Collins for superior SAR talks, to Eli Cehelyk from Victor Ayeni for his awesome gen med skills, to Lexi Greene and Stephen Landy for creating the best VA Gen Med vibes (from David Stevens) and to Tommy Hamner and Oyin Adidepe from Alison Smith for great work overnight at the VA. Also, huge kudos to everyone who cleaned and decorated the workrooms at Duke, the VA and DRH for the decorating/cleaning contest with Dr Cooney and to our winners: Michael Dagher/Clare Anderson (VA), Krunal Amin, Bryce Hendren, Jennifer Evans and Frank Estrella (Duke). Finally the HUGEST KUDOS and thanks to all who made our Locked List Second Look event the most amazing!!!! Our ACRs and Dr. Evans leaders Karen Young, Zach Dailey, John Demis, Alejandro de la Torre and Rachel Obimah for leading some sessions with the applicants and to all of our amazing tour guides (see pic below!) and folks who were able to make it to the social events! Way to go FAM!!!!
This week’s pubmed from the program goes to Alex Gunn (special shout out in Grand Rounds too!)
