From the Director
What a weekend! Hugest kudos to Chief Lonnie for all his work planning the first ever Duke IM Res vs UNC IM Res basketball game (and a super sweet win, with outstanding coaching by DaMarcus Ingram, stellar photography from Komal Safdar and fantastic resident and faculty turnout). Thanks to UNC for hosting, we look forward to seeing you at Duke in a few weeks for the rematch. Of course Duke IM Res victory paved the way for an awesome Duke MBB win over UNC as well as well as Duke WBB victory over top 10 Notre Dame.
Looking forward to this week’s FUN_bruary events. See the calendar for details.
Congratulations to Kirstin Binz on the birth of Charles Giovanni Binz! And also congratulations to Sidney Barrau on his wedding this past weekend!
Many thanks to our office team as well as Courtney Dominguez and DaMarcus Ingram for coordinating the lunch situation this week with virtual conferences. Happy to be back to in person now!
Kudos
Kudos this week to DaMarcus Ingram, Courtney Dominguez and Kelly Flynn on an outstanding LEADS, to Kelly as well on her excellent SAR talk and to Sarah Morgan on her also excellent Cohen Conference. Other kudos to Nicole Dussault for her award winning presentation at Southern Society of General Internal Medicine, to Kayla Brown and Kristen McClellan from Jackie Kercheval for outstanding patient care on 9300, to Mark Brahier from Emory Buck for amazing coordination of care in the CICU, and again to Mark Brahier from John DeMis for new scrubs, and to DaMarcus Ingram from Sarah Moserowitz for helping with procedure teaching on Gen Med. Belated kudos from PRIME Clinic to Nish Shivakumar who had a very busy week as LEAD covering due the COVID wave-let after the holidays, and to Amanda Broderick who did the same as LEAD during the Norovirus (+COVID?) crash – and to Shivy Chandramouli who also pitched in at the last minute to help cover patients.
Pubmed from the Program
This week’s pubmed from the program goes to Amanda Broderick for her recent paper
