Happy FUNBRUARY and HAPPY GME WEEK! Let’s all have a week like Jared McCain did in the game vs Florida State.
Please join all of us in a TREMENDOUS thank you to Vashyra Morris who will be moving away and embarking on new adventures. We appreciate so much your wonderful support of the residents and the program. We will miss you!!
This week we have the second +2 (or whoever wants to join!) hangout at my house (Tues at 7 pm). Snacks, drinks, camaraderie. Feb 24th we have the run/walk with Chief Cosi (time/place TBD).

Kudos
Kudos this week to our amazing SARs who crushed it at noon conference with SAR talks and LEADS: Matt Townsend, Shelief Robbins-Juarez, Apurva Khedagi, Callie Lilley, Colin Marts and Gracie Ernstberger! Also kudos to my awesome gen med team for an excellent week: Quinn Silverglate, Emily Jung, Katelyn Seale, Nick Brazeau, Neha Pal, Aaron Thieren and Kendall Reitz and NFs Karen Young, Peter Albares, Alex Gunn, Sanjay Gadi and Michael Dagher; kudos as well to Katie Jordan for rescuing fellow SAR Jackie Kercheval with her flat tire, to Shivy Chandramouli from Ben Berger for being a fantastic ICU call buddy at the VA, to Madeline Watson from Megan Hansen for amazing work with a VERY sick patient on 9100, to Peter Albares for cleaning the med res fridge (from Sanjay Gadi, but really from ALL of us), and to Neha Pal from one of the ED nurses for her attentive care and communication for a patient with a long stay in the ED.

PATIENTS AGED 45-49 HAVE A LOWER ADENOMA DETECTION RATE COMPARED TO PATIENTS AGED 50-75 WITH IMPLICATIONS ON QUALITY MEASUREMENT

Feeling down? Need to talk to someone? Opportunities for Wellness
All trainees at Duke have FREE access to Personal Assistance Services (PAS), which is the faculty/employee assistance program of Duke University. The staff of licensed professionals offer confidential assessment, short-term counseling, and referrals to help resolve a range of personal, work, and family problems. PAS services are available free of charge to Duke faculty and staff, and their immediate family members. An appointment to meet with a PAS counselor may be arranged by calling the PAS office at 919-416-1PAS (919-416-1727), Monday through Friday between 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. Prioritized GME appts are now available also at 6 pm and 7 pm! For assistance after hours, residents and fellows can call the Blood and Body Fluid Hotline (115 inside DUH, 919-684-1115 outside) for referral to behavioral health resources.
