Duke's Office of News & Communications will sponsor a media training workshop on Fri., Jan. 24 from 9-11:30 a.m. in Room 05 of the Sanford School of Public Policy.
The annual workshop has trained hundreds of faculty and other members of the campus community to interact effectively with the news media. This is the 12th year the workshop has been offered, and it will provide professors and others with advice on how to handle an interview and become a source for reporters; how to write an op-ed article; and how to balance media outreach with other academic priorities.
This year's agenda is designed to be short and practical. It includes discussions with faculty who appear regularly in the media, as well as opportunities for several participants to sit in the TV "hot seat" for a mock interview.
