Mary Klotman, MD, chair of the department, and Aimee Zaas, MD, MHS, Internal Medicine Residency program director, sent this message to the department tonight:
We are extremely proud to share the spectacular results of today's 2012-13 Fellowship Match – our 39 senior residents have placed into many of the nation's top fellowship training programs, including our own. Find a list of where they are headed below.
These successful placements are a testament to the outstanding medical and interpersonal skills of our senior residents. Congratulations to them: Best wishes as you and your families plan for this next phase of your lives and careers.
It's notable that Duke Internal Medicine residents continue to secure fantastic jobs after residency, both in hospital medicine and primary care and in academic research. This clearly reflects our entire department's commitment to preparing the next generation of doctors who will provide compassionate care and evidence-based medicine. Our thanks to the faculty for being such important role models and constant advocates for our trainees.
Please celebrate with us. We know that each of these residents will continue to make us proud, both here and at the many fine programs around the country.
