3 Quick tips for timely RCR completion

The School of Medicine recently incorporated a Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) program into the broader Science Culture and Accountability initiative. It's designed to help promote ongoing discussion on the responsible practices that are integral to moving the culture of research integrity forward in a positive direction here at Duke.

1. Know if you qualify:

The School of Medicine developed the following set of criteria, which they consider "engaged in research":

  • Key Personnel on an active or pending project in SPS
  • Key Personnel on an active or pending IRB protocol
  • Key Personnel on an active or pending IACUC protocol
  • Compensated from a fund code with a Research Attribute in SAP
  • Occupying space that is coded with a "research" function in the SOM space database

2. Meet the deadline:

We ask that you please complete your training by May 31, 2018, so that DGIM can fully comply with the School of Medicine requirements.

3. Choose your training option:

Completion of only one is required.

  • CITI RCR online course(score of ≥ 80% required, estimated time to complete is 1.5 - 3 hours – you can complete required modules over multiple sittings)
  • RCR Interactive Workshops: (Registration for these workshops are required. Register soon to guarantee your spot!)

> May 25th, 9:00am – 11:30am, Trent Semans Center, Great Hall
