The School of Medicine Office for Faculty Mentoring will host a series of sessions on mentoring in academic medicine.
The sessions will feature visiting professor Elizabeth Travis, PhD, FASTRO, of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Travis is an internationally recognized radiation biologist as well as a consummate advocate for women faculty in academic medicine. She has been extremely effective in building leadership through mentoring.
Sessions include:
- Mentoring vs. Sponsoring, 5-6:30 p.m., Mon., April 21, with reception to follow, Nursing School Auditorium + Atrium
- Unconscious Bias, 12-1 p.m. (lunch available), Tues., April 22, Great Hall, Trent Semans Center
- Mentoring Toward Independence, 2-3 p.m., Tues., April 22, Great Hall, Trent Semans Center
