The Duke Red Blood Cell Transfusion Colloquium will meet Mon., April 28, at 11:30 a.m. in the Great Hall, Room A of the Trent Semans Center.
The featured speakers will be Claude Piantadosi, MD, professor of medicine (Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine) and pathology and assistant professor of anesthesiology, and Elliott Bennett-Guerrero, MD, professor of anesthesiology and director of perioperative clinical research.
Dr. Piantadosi will present "Better Ingredients, Better Pizza: SNO Repletion of Banked RBC and Tissue Oxygenation." Dr. Bennett-Guerrero will present "Red Blood Cell Transfusion in Hospitalized Patients: An Update."
Lunch will be provided. This event is part of the School of Medicine's 2013-14 Interdisciplinary Colloquia series and was organized by Tim McMahon, MD, PhD, associate professor of medicine (Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine).
