5/16/14: Symposium on advancing translational research using mass spectrometry

By admin2
The Duke Proteomics Core and Duke Translational Research Institute will hold Advancing Translational Research Using Mass Spectrometry from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Fri., May 16 in Schiciano Auditorium. Symposium description: Translational medicine aims to expedite the discovery of new diagnostic tools and treatments by using a multi-disciplinary, highly collaborative, "bench-to-bedside" approach. One area of this rapidly growing discipline in biomedical research aims to leverage new technology and data analysis tools to more quickly identify promising targets for putative biomarkers and develop assays for those biomarkers to help move them into clinical trials and provide positive patient outcomes. Modern mass spectrometry techniques have become a major contributor to discovery, validation and clinical implementation phases of translational research and are the subject of this seminar.
